"Here," I said. "Hold this."
My oldest boy loves to work with me. He loves to be involved in what I'm doing. I love that he's so eager to learn new things.
This particular day we happened to have an appointment with his behavior specialist that ran long and so he spent the rest of the afternoon with me and his little brother.
He hangs over my shoulders to watch what I do. He asks how things work. It's great. And a little intimidating at times. This time specifically I was trying to get some good photographs for my etsy shop. I'm just learning about photography, and trying to get my images the way I want you to see them.
Am I the only parent that spends hours Googling various random subjects you never thought you'd be researching?
I tell my kids that they can do anything they put their mind to, and try never to squash their dreams or tell them it can't be done. If he wants to learn about photography we'll learn! (And I'll spend hours watching Youtube videos and searching for tutorials!)
A life goal of mine--
To have a business that my whole family is a part of. I'd love to be able to pass on to my kids the "family business", to have them hanging over my shoulder learning a skill that will last them a lifetime. The truth is, I'm not sure what that will be yet, but I'm hopeful about making it happen.
Do you have some life goals? A dream for your family? I'd love to hear from you. Tell me how you're making it happen!
