Collecting vintage linens is something that has just happened over the years of thrift shopping I've done. There is no particular rhyme or reason to it. Pillow cases, table cloths, various bed linens. One of my favorite finds was a few years ago when I came across a laundry bag that says Laundry Supply Co. and the previous owners last name, both embroidered in red. If it were not so fragile, I would use it for laundry! It graces the back of one of my chairs, pulled down over the top like a chair cover.
In the same font as the bag I found, I embroidered this cotton bag I made and threaded some cord through eyelets. Quick and easy project! The inside is lined with PUL so I can use it for cloth diapers when the baby is born.
The most complicated part was figuring out the eyelets! Those things can be tricky if you don't know what you're doing. Or...maybe it's just me! No matter. Now I'm a pro, after having gone through half a box of them before figuring them out.
